Форменный базар раскинулся широко, вульгарно и привольно — там, где скромно стояли байронические герои 70-го года.
Тот поселок был тогда тенистым. То место было тогда нежарким, где мы стояли, у калитки дома отдыха писателей, мы — не писатели — художник Толя Брусиловский, его жена Галя — птичка, его приставучий и разнузданный ребенок Макс, моя красивая и томная жена Анна, еще какие-то забытые персонажи.
Ведь Коктебель был зимней столицей советской интеллигенции, где она согревалась после зимы, пела в хрупких южных домишках свои романсы, изгилялась друг перед другом знаниями шикарных иностранных языков, смело разглагольствовала о Джойсе и Прусте, читала стихи в домике Волошина, задыхаясь от счастья принадлежности к Великой Русской культуре.
В двух шагах урчало милое патриархальное прохладное море. Параллельно морю тянулась запущенная ограда дома отдыха писателей, ограду венчали несколько потрескавшихся ваз в псевдо-греческом стиле. Вдалеке на фоне Кара-Дага боролся с ветром баркас местного художника Юры.
Я приехал спустя 43 года и стою на раскаленном базаре, параллельно базарным рядам тянется писсуарного цвета море. Животастые крепыши из Сибири и центральной России жуют, пьют, поколыхивают беременными частями тел.
Не кончающимся потоком колышутся тюленьи тела отдыхающих, жарко очень, пот сливается, что называется с тел, в три ручья.
Ни одного знакомого лица. Домик Волошина, некогда возвышавшийся как горделивая башня, сейчас выглядит как убогая мазанка: куры-гриль какоё-нибудь.
Юноши и девушки без лиц, но с профессиональными улыбками торгуют пивом и молочными коктейлями. И сувенирами, магнитиками на холодильник и футболками.
Афиши обещают вечером эротические шоу. В вытоптанном садике у домика Волошина, на чахлом не реквизированном под торговлю клочке грязной земли на пластиковых стульях сидят полсотни отдыхающих, на импровизировааной сцене слабенький джаз пытается перекричать доменную индустрию развлечений.
Двое пробираются через толпу с матрацом.
У нашего товарища водителя Кости есть с собой бутылка вина. Пьющий — я один, прошу глоток, ну пол-стакана, Забираемся в раздавленные и замусоренные заросли, я выпиваю мои пол-стакана.
Откуда не возьмись, подходят двое.
— Что это вы тут делаете?
— Упаковываем сумки.
— Ааа! Здесь нельзя, это административное здание.
Здание явно необитаемое и заброшенное, но отходим.
Среди парнокопытных и брюхатых обывателей (у женщин обывателей нет талий), как святые юродивые Индии, попадаются здесь и там группки прокуренных и изможденных хиппи. Они приятнее обывателей.
Я не стал пытаться пройти в скромный домик Волошина, где я молодым парнем читал стихи в 1970 году.
Я даже не попытался найти поэта А., который обосновался здесь уже как пару десятилетий, и несомненно сейчас представляет из себя грузного старика с рыжей бородой и багровым лицом.
Все прошло — все умчалося. Пошлость одолела Россию. Буржуазная революция 1991 года принесла победу пошлости.
Победил не свирепый гунн коммунистической орды, но брюхатый обыватель и пищащие упитанные его чада победили романтизм, победили художников + поэтов.
Потребитель (по Хлебникову) победил изобретателя.
Какая мерзость сегодняшний Коктебель! Какой базарной мерзостью он стал!
В какой-то момент, впрочем, из толпы обывателей прошагал по набережной звёздный мальчик лет за семьдесят, аксёновский герой в чёрных индийских шёлковых шароварах, — штанина наплывает на другую, и в вознесенской кепочке, сопровождаемый столь же целеустремлённой самочкой моложе его, её блондинистые волосики были прилеплены к скальпу колосьями.
Куда они делали вид, что торопятся, чужие в этой толпе? Они показались мне милыми, даже они в этой толпе бегемотов и бегемотих….
На набережной меня всё же узнали, и низенький крепыш из Йошкар-Олы с подругой попросили сфотографироваться.
Далее меня узнал седой аксакал, прямо и мужественно сидевший в плавках и седой аккуратной бородкой. «Эдичка-аа!» — пропел он мне вслед.
У нас там было дело. Наш друг — журналист из населённого пункта Апартеид (или Парменид) — просил нас достать пресс-релиз джазового фестиваля, который проходил в эти дни в Коктебеле.
Нам пришлось дойти до самого нудистского пляжа (впрочем, жалкого ), и лишь за ним мы обнаружили большую сцену, где нам так и не выдали пресс-релиз.
Уезжая из Коктебеля, я проклинал современный Коктебель.
Ближе к ночи джазовый фестиваль в Коктебеле посетил Владимир Владимирович Путин.
Ну ему некуда деваться…
