Огромные территории вокруг станции стали зоной отчуждения. Недавно ученые запустили проект, цель которого — узнать как можно больше о фауне этого заброшенного места. Оказывается, что наличие людей влияет на животный мир гораздо больше, чем радиация, ведь в Чернобыльской зоне обнаружены представители фауны, которых там не наблюдали уже больше века. Редакция Ofigenno.cc решила ознакомить тебя с промежуточными результатами этого проекта, который закончится в конце года.
За последние 30 лет количество животных в зоне отчуждения возросло в разы, а это позволяет утверждать, что радиация не так пагубно влияет на фауну, как человеческое вмешательство.
Ученые отслеживали популяции животных по следам на свежевыпавшем снеге. Также в ноябре прошлого года в украинской части зоны были установлены 42 камеры.
Исследование позволило выяснить, что в чернобыльских лесах значительно возросло количество диких кабанов, волков, косуль и лисиц.
Кроме того, здесь обнаружили редких животных, которые уже много лет не появлялись в этих местах: европейскую рысь и бурого медведя.
Профессор университета города Портсмут Джим Смит утверждает, что эта авария сотворила некий заповедник: «Мы не говорим, что радиация — это хорошо. Но отсутствие человеческого влияния позволило популяции животных увеличиться».
В Чернобыльской зоне даже удалось заснять зубров и лошадей Пржевальского.
