Верховный суд США постановил обнародовать Смитсоновскому институту засекреченные документы, датированные началом 1900 годов, доказывающие, что организация принимала участие в крупном историческом сокрытии доказательств, показывающих, что гигантские человеческие останки в количестве десятков тысяч были найдены по всей Америке, и уничтожены по приказу высокопоставленных руководителей для защиты господствующей хронологии эволюции человека, существовавшей в то время.
Подозрения, исходившие от Американского института альтернативной археологии (AIAA) о том, что Смитсоновский институт уничтожил тысячи гигантских останков человека, был принят организацией в штыки, которая ответила тем, что подала на AIAA в суд за клевету и попытку навредить репутации 168-летнего учреждения.
