Многоуважаемый Герасим Артемьевич!
Прилагаю при сем два экземпляра фотографий с портрета графа Михаила Тариэловича, писанного мною. Один оставьте себе, а другой передайте графине. Поставив пожзд9ккртрет в присланную Вами раму, отправляю в Тифлис к князю Дондукову-Корсакову. Вместе с портретом отправляю две большие картины тоже для Храма славы.
Наш водопровод к концу, а также и мой фонтан готов,, надеюсь 30 августа вода будет уже в городе, расстояние 26 верст. Согласитесь, что в один год довольно скоро.
… Хорен Вардапет1 хотя и тут ссорится, но сделал хорошее дело, возобновил старинную церковь святого Саркиса (700 лет). Собрал денег от кого мог, около 3-х тысяч, теперь при интерес [нрзб]… церковь на днях будет освящение, и по этому случаю написал образ Спасителя, молящегося в Гефсиманском саду.
Завидую Вам, что Вы теперь в семье чудной.

Постройка Ваша идет хорошо. Фатин обратился ко мне за советом, как поступить ему после получения от Вас письма о поднятии другого этажа, что по его соображениям трудно будет приспособить крышу и проч.
Я посоветовал ему исполнить буквально Ваши указания. Этот Ваш теремный, еще вернее выразиться тюремный, архитектор так приложил свою мрачную печать на Вашу постройку.
Например, башня в таком виде* вместо того, чтобы дать форму. Эти окна весьма непрактичны, нет рам, но бог с ним.
Водопровод, наконец, совершенно окончен и во многих домах есть чистая и без всякого запаха вода.
Мы решили выехать отсюда 3-го ноября через Одессу в Берлин, оттуда я напишу к Вам.
Читал я статью Вашу о моей выставке в Константинополе. Жаль только, что сам я не поехал, а выставил другой. Все, судя по письмам и в газетах полагают, что я тоже нахожусь в Константинополе.
